As the end of the season is fast approaching, I want to take the time to remind everyone to start thinking about their teams player awards and also their end of season team report to go into the Mounties Junior Soccer annual Journal.

There are 3 awards for each team. These include BEST PLAYER, TEAM MEMBER and MOST IMPROVED. For teams in the Under 18 and above, there are only 2 awards for each team. They are BEST PLAYER and PLAYER'S PLAYER (or team Player). These nominations should be in no later than 31st July 2014. If they are not received by then, players may miss out. Send the nominations to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

You can also start writing out your Team Report to go into the Mounties Junior Soccer Yearbook that is handed to every player at the Presentation. This Journal contains photos of every team with a brief report written by each coach or manager. This report can be anything up to a page long (Usually half a page is sufficient). You can write about how good the team went or brief description of the players. If you need some help, see a committee member down at the Park who can show you a Journal from last year to give you some ideas. These reports should be in no later than 18th August 2014. Send the reports to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

As a lot of people are aware, at the end of season presentation we have a slide show featuring action photos of Mounties players during the season. This year we are hoping to get some photos that parents may have shot of their kids team or Senior teams, so that we can use them for the slide show. We may also incorporate video into end of season presentation, so if you have some good video, we could include that.

Let me know if you have some photo or videos of this years players in action or even training, and I'll arrange to get a copy off you.

Also, all senior teams who did not do a team photo, can you also supply us with one so we can include that in the end of season Annual Journal.

Reporting of Scores PDF Print E-mail
Written by Charlie Fusco

Please be aware that Coaches or Managers should report the score of any game they play away from Joe Broad Reserve. Please SMS the score to Charlie on Telephone 0403397302, by simply putting in the team, opponent and the score you either won, lost or drew by. Please have them in before the weekend ends, and preferably straight after the game, so it's easier to remember.

Here is an example of what to SMS:

U15/1 Won 2-0 against Moorebank

Be aware that the association have began to start fining Clubs for not reporting all their scores, so please report any scores for games that you play away from home.

All small sided, mini and mod field teams (ie. Under 11 and younger) do not need to report scores as these games are non-competitive.

Please find attached the Competition rules for Season 2014. These rules apply to all Age Groups from Under 5 to Over 35.

There are some important rules for Small sided and Mini football in regards to how to restart play when a goal is scored as well as when the ball goes dead. Also take note of the role of goalkeeper for U8 to U9, in particular what he can do in the penalty area (ie. the ball is not in play until it is played out of the penalty area by goalkeeper).
